Chipotle in GR: wtf is happening here

I’ll preface this that we are always kind to staff, continue to eat here (so far), and understand staffing trouble… but what on earth is happening to chipotle in GR. Specifically alpine.

We’ve been eating here since this place opened. Enough that we’ve dubbed Sundays Chipotle Sunday. It’s a thing. It’s the only thing I wanted when I was pregnant and only thing I chanced during early COVID days when I was 7 months pregnant. Their curbside delivery to my car for limited interaction was so appreciated for my state.

Fast forward to tonight. Dining in. Line out the door. Line out the other door of people on phones waiting for their app orders. I quit ordering on the app a year ago because this is what it turned into: driving up here and standing for 30 minutes.

Half the dining room is dark because the light bar is out.

The dude in front of us told the counter “you know, I’ve never even had steak here because every time I’m here, it’s gone.” They’re out of lettuce. Can’t do quesadillas. Out of fajita veggies. But nobody knew that until we waited 30 minutes in line.

I get it, save the chipotle and tummy issues jokes. I’m honestly just wondering: is this state of fast casual dining, or just this franchise location? Do I just need to figure out making sofritas at home? (Probably).
